Owen-Ames-Kimball Company (O-A-K), a premier general contractor with a longstanding presence in Southwest Florida, has completed the construction of the 14,000-square-foot Marian Hall at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Fort Myers.
Located at 5632 Sunrise Drive in Fort Myers, the new gathering space has a modern, open-concept design with a high clerestory and an open glass entryway. The building features clean exterior lines and large windows offering panoramic views. The hall is adjacent to St. Cecilia’s mid-century sanctuary, designed in 1966 with a curved roofline, sweeping overhangs and stone accents.
“The new hall allows for more people to congregate before and after Mass and for special occasions, which creates a greater sense of community,” said Father Stan Dombrowski, priest of the St. Cecilia parish. “O-A-K was an excellent partner in this project, completing the hall on time and providing exemplary oversight and workmanship.”
The building dedication and blessing by Diocese of Venice Bishop Frank J. Dewane was held on Sunday, May 12.
The project was led by Bo Nepip, Director of Construction, the Diocese of Venice, O-A-K project manager, Abrie Spies, estimator, Abel Natali, and project superintendent, David Campbell. Architecture Joyce Owens provided architectural services, TKW Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering, Matern Professional Engineering furnished mechanical, electrical and plumbing oversight, and GradyMinor provided civil engineering work.
