This two-floor office renovation at the State of Michigan Office Building in Grand Rapids included a 10,347 sf renovation of the third floor and a 3,032 sf renovation of the fourth floor. O-A-K also built the original building in the 1970s.
Selective demolition was completed on the existing suspended ceilings, acoustical ceiling panels, interior partitions, existing light fixtures and HVAC. Construction scope included new interior partitions, suspended acoustical panel ceiling systems, built-in hardwood bookshelves, base cabinets, carpet, HVAC, plumbing, power/data and lighting on both floors.
Because the building remained occupied during construction, the work was completed in two separate phases.
The office space accommodates the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Civil Rights group and the Judicial Research group.
O-A-K provided on-site supervision, project management, general trades and skilled carpentry.
