A flagship project of the West Michigan Sports Commission, the Art Van Sports Complex is a 12-field, championship-caliber baseball/softball complex – the first of its kind in West Michigan. Phase 1 was completed in the fall of 2014. The state-of-the-art facility at 10 Mile Road in Rockford features nine baseball and softball fields, including a fenced championship field; covered championship grandstands to seat 1,000; a Miracle Field for children with disabilities; and warm-up areas, restrooms, concessions and picnic shelters. The complex is expected to attract more than 75 events and 135,000 visitors in its first five years of operation, with an economic impact for Kent County in excess of $20 million.
