Mike began his employment in the construction field at the age of 16, working alongside his father at John Woods Construction for a number of years. In 1979 he started his own site Construction Company where he focused on site prep.

Mike has over thirty years of experience working on numerous road and site prep projects in south Florida. He also owned, managed and later on sold his underground utility company. Since joining O‑A‑K as a site superintendent he has gained the experience in airport construction. Mike also has extensive knowledge in heavy equipment and all phases of complete site work and road construction.
