Portage Central Middle School

This new 144,750 sf middle school project features a four-story design, 21st-century classrooms and learning laboratories, high-end finishes like polished concrete and custom wood ceilings, and state-of-the art technology and security.

Building features

• Three levels of classrooms connected via an open-concept staircase system, inviting abundant natural light into the school
• Two mechanical penthouses
• STEAM-centered learning commons
• A large atrium connecting the corridor space to the learning commons and cafeteria

The project was part of a $144 million bond program passed by Portage residents in 2015. O‑A‑K provided construction management services for all bond projects.
