Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Company (O‑A‑K), a preeminent general contractor with a longstanding presence in Southwest Florida, has announced the appointment of Winfried Krepf as a project manager in the company’s Naples office. Krepf is currently managing the San Marco Catholic Church and projects for Collier County Public Schools.
Krepf has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He began his career working for international firms with projects in the U.S., Germany, Russia, Middle & Far East, performing as an estimator, site manager, supervisor, project engineer and project manager. Within his commercial, industrial and residential experience, he has managed everything from estimating, plan review, value engineering, pre-construction, scheduling, construction to closeouts of multimillion-dollar projects. He performed contract implementation and start to finish project management for schools, police headquarters, religious buildings and clinics. Most recently, he managed the complete shell construction including change orders and closeout of a 14 story high rise, mixed luxury condo complex which included two subfloor garage levels in southeast Florida.
Krepf attained his 4 year B.S. degree in Construction Management and a concrete technologist certification from the College of Civil Engineering in Aachen, Germany. Before that, he had 3 additional years of trade apprenticeship and journeyman time in concrete, rebar and formwork. After his University graduation, he was invited to join a German-US exchange program for engineers which brought him to the U.S. in 1987. Throughout his career, he has continued his education by participation in university programs, specialty seminars, courses and training for post-tensioning, masonry, contracting, administration, leadership, and supervision.
