O‑A‑K Hires Senior Project Manager Adam Seng

Owen‑Ames‑Kimball recently announced the hiring of Adam Seng as Senior Project Manager. With his extensive experience and proven track record, Adam brings valuable expertise to O‑A‑K’s project management team.

In his new role, Adam will be responsible for cost control and project communication for commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $75 million. His keen attention to detail and innovative approach to construction problem-solving make him highly skilled at managing these types of projects.

“I am thrilled to be joining a company as collaborative and team-oriented as O‑A‑K,” Adam said. “I look forward to working with business leaders across West Michigan and helping bring their projects to life.”

Adam joins O‑A‑K with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Ferris State University and over twenty years of construction experience, starting when he was young and would help his family with their various construction projects.

As a Project Manager, Adam specializes in healthcare construction, having successfully completed projects for healthcare systems such as Spectrum Health and Metro Health. He also completed numerous projects for Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, including a new Orthopedics unit, renovations to the Labor & Delivery unit, and an expansion of the surgery waiting room. Additionally, Adam was the project manager for an extensive expansion and renovation to Sparrow’s 11-story West Wing Tower, which included consolidating prep and recovery rooms for cardiac catheterization patients and adding six new operating rooms. A new Emergency Department was also constructed, which includes 68 treatment bays divided between a trauma center and care areas for adult and pediatric patients. These high-profile projects required Adam to maintain constant communication with hospital representatives, city officials, and the surrounding communities.

Because many of the projects Adam worked on were additions to existing healthcare facilities, he has a strong understanding of how to create a unified look when incorporating new structures. For instance, as the Senior Project Manager for a new parking deck at Blodgett Hospital, Adam ensured that the exterior architecture matched the hospital's original 1916 design. Since Blodgett Hospital is located in the heart of East Grand Rapids, Adam also coordinated construction activities to be minimally disruptive to the hospital’s neighbors and complete the new parking deck as quickly as possible.

“What I find rewarding about working on healthcare projects is that the technology is constantly evolving and improving, so there is something new to learn on every project,” Adam said.

At O‑A‑K, Adam is managing projects for Hope College, Allegan Public Schools, Holland Public Schools, and Ingham County. Outside of work, he actively serves on the board of Sunset Senior Communities and is a member of Leadership Grand Rapids. He also enjoys spending quality time with his two young children.

“I am thrilled to be joining a company as collaborative and team-oriented as O‑A‑K. I look forward to working with business leaders across West Michigan and helping bring their projects to life.”
