What began as an opportunity quickly turned into a passion as I experienced the people, teamwork, and purpose behind the work. Construction is built on relationships, accountability, and collaboration, and at O-A-K, those values are lived out every day. Being part of an industry—and a company—where people truly value people is what makes this work meaningful to me.
one of my first experiences at O-A-K—a school project groundbreaking ceremony. A retired teacher from that school district, after years of seeing much-needed school bond proposals rejected, stood nearby with tears in her eyes and repeatedly spoke of her excitement for these upgrades. In that moment, seeing what this project meant for not only future students, teachers, and the community, I understood that construction is about far more than buildings—it’s about hope, opportunity, and the people we serve.
I’ve learned that every day presents an opportunity to grow—whether it’s deepening my understanding all job roles and how each team member contributes and is a major component to our organization, learning from those around me, or finding ways to positively impact others. O-A-K reinforces that growth isn’t just about professional development, but about becoming better people and better partners to the communities we serve.
I love being outdoors, with the exception during frigid temperatures. Mowing the lawn brings me joy! Crafting, especially when I recruit my family to participate, I will also watch any Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, or Iron Man movies should I stumble upon them!
