David joined O‑A‑K in December 2022 as an experienced Project Manager. Originally from northern Indiana, he found his way to Kalamazoo by attending Western Michigan University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering. He also holds certificates in OSHA 30-hour safety training, Dale Carnegie effective communications and human relations and is a Leadership of Greater Kalamazoo class of 2024 Alumni. David has experience working on projects that range from $500,000 retail build outs, $10 million Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings, $60 million mixed-use housing complexes to $100 million bond programs and more.
I spend a lot of my free time being outdoors. I enjoy golfing, boating, mountain biking and riding four wheelers and snowmobiles. I also like watching college football and basketball.
I like to say that the construction industry chose me and am grateful for all the opportunities and lifelong lessons it has taught me. My family had a construction business while I was growing up, and I’ve been swinging a hammer, working on, or managing a jobsite for as long as I can remember. I've always enjoyed putting the pieces of any project together and figuring out the best way to solve problems with a team.
