I’ve been in the AEC industry for over 20 years, and I realized pretty early on that it was the right place for me. I started as a project coordinator at a design firm, and once I saw how many people and moving parts it takes to bring a project to life, I was hooked. Seeing how the built environment enhances communities and infrastructure made the work even more meaningful. As I grew, I moved into roles that let me use my business and marketing background, and that’s where I found my passion for building relationships and supporting teams. Now I’m excited to take everything I learned on the design side and apply it to construction, experiencing the process from a different angle.
What I have learned at O-A- K is just how great the people are. Everyone is willing to jump in, help out, and work together, and you can feel how much the team cares about the projects, the clients, and each other. It is a friendly place where real relationships matter. I have also seen how much the company gives back. O- A-K is truly involved in the community, not just through sponsorships but through showing up, volunteering, and supporting the causes employees care about. It is clear the company cares about its people and the places we live and work, and that shows in everything we do.
In my free time, I love taking in live events and entertainment. I am always up for local festivals, community activities, and exploring new places, restaurants, and breweries, including in new towns and cities. Concerts and live sporting events are some of my favorite ways to spend a day or night out. Most of all, I value time with my family and my amazing tribe of close friends.
I have always had a passion for sports, especially basketball. I played collegiate women’s basketball at the University of North Florida and continued my love for the game through coaching. Over the years, I coached at multiple levels, from 12 and under travel teams to high school programs. Most recently, I served as the head girls varsity basketball coach at Golden Gate High School for 12 years before hanging up my whistle. Altogether, I coached for 20 plus years, and I still plan to stay involved through local clinics and community organizations.
