Phil Veenhoven

Operations Manager

Cemented as a dynamic collaborator and humble leader, Phil brings 20 years of industry experience. He began his construction career as an apprentice sheet metal worker. After he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University, he moved to California, where he worked for one of the largest construction management firms in the United States. There, he built a diverse portfolio consisting of Aviation, Healthcare, Education, and Government Defense projects. He has now reestablished his West Michigan roots, with experience in both field and project management leadership.

Why did you choose the construction industry?

Working in the trades I found it fulfilling to see the physical progress being made from the effort put forth.

What can you say about our clients over the years?

They have a lot of trust and confidence in OAK. That’s not built overnight and shows the type of leadership we have.

What have you learned while working at O-A-K?

I’ve learned that a company can be very successful with people that have an aligned vision. We truly put people first.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy cooking, playing music, and spending time with my family.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

In middle school I accidently wore my Mom’s denim jeans.
