Coldwater Community Schools Breaks Ground on $29.75 Million Bond Project

Staff, students, parents and community supporters of Coldwater Community Schools gathered Wednesday morning to celebrate the groundbreaking of the district’s $29.75 million bond project, which will fund improvements to 5 facilities over the course of the next 3 years.

Bond improvements feature a new two-story, fourth and fifth elementary building and upgrades to the middle school, high school and Jefferson Elementary.

The construction timeline of the bond improvements is as follows:

2019/2020

  • Legg Middle School: Mechanical and electrical upgrades, energy management system, technology improvements, modern furnishings, and interior finishes, including classroom casework
  • New 4/5 Building: Construction of a new two-story 4th and 5th grade elementary building, new bus loop, with delivery area, visitor/event parking, new playground, technology improvements, and modern furnishings
  • Jefferson Elementary: Partial roof replacement, technology improvements, and modern furnishings

2021

  • Coldwater High School: Partial roof replacement, locker room remodel, replacement of corridor lockers, and interior door improvements

The bond to fund these projects was passed by the community in November 2017. Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. is providing construction management services. TowerPinkster is the project architect. For continued updates, visit the district’s blog.

This new elementary school will provide the educational environment that our students deserve. We realize that it is a great financial commitment for the members of or our community, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in us and taking this dream to a reality.

Terry Ann Boguth
Superintendent, Coldwater Community Schools
