New Learning Center Blends Classrooms and Art

Completed in 2018, the new 20,000 sf, LEED-certified, Covenant Learning Center aims to use nature and art to inspire students.

The expansion project features:

  • A point-of-entry welcome lobby equipped with stroller parking, a drop-off/pick-up space, and classrooms/offices;
  • Two 1,600 sf classrooms and four 1,075 sf classrooms with full-height partitions and glass walls to enhance outdoor experience;
  • Outside access doors in five out of the six classrooms;
  • An outdoor learning area with seating, teaching areas, and partial shade/cover;
  • Administrative offices and storage areas

Above the learning center, boasts a 15,000 sf, urban-designed, rooftop sculpture garden that features four-season horticulture and world-class art. Completed in 2019, this project offers breathtaking views for daily visitors and flexible-use space for events. Project scope included bench seating, sculpture pads, raised concrete planters, and pavers.

These projects were completed as part of the $115 million capital expansion, Welcoming the World: Honoring a Legacy of Love. All projects are managed by O‑A‑K and are being completed over the course of five years.
