A Fresh Space for Learning & Collaboration

This expansive addition and renovation project provided much-needed collaboration space for Kentwood Public Schools, while celebrating the district’s diversity. Project scope included a 10,000 sf addition and 11,374 sf of renovations featuring new slab on grade, roof, windows, interior finishes, and MEP upgrades. The transformed building now includes two collaboration spaces, public gathering areas, breakout rooms for students and staff, and new offices.

The Kentwood school district is known as one of the most diverse districts in the State of Michigan, and was actually named as such by School News Network (2018). Upon entering the new administration and collaboration center, visitors are greeted by a global map, highlighting the countries from which their students represent.

Funded by an ongoing $64.8 million bond program, this project marks one of 16 individual buildings renovated by O‑A‑K.
