This project transformed Kenowa Hills Middle School through extensive renovations and additions as part of the 2020 voter-approved bond program, supporting the district’s evolving educational programs. Updates included modernized classrooms, science labs, hallways, restrooms, the kitchen and cafeteria, as well as new flexible learning spaces. The project also added a dedicated music wing for band, orchestra, and choir, while converting the former auditorium into a versatile space that can be configured as one to three classrooms.
Work involved careful phasing and coordination to complete construction while the school remained fully occupied. Improvements included new lighting and electrical systems, updated interior finishes, lockers, and repurposed learning spaces to enhance flexibility and functionality. The project also delivered a new media center, supporting student research, collaboration, and technology integration.
By creating adaptable and modern learning environments, the project supports student engagement, creativity, and collaborative learning.
