As part of Rockford Public Schools’ 2019 voter-approved bond program, North Rockford Middle School received $18.4 million in upgrades to support continued district growth and enhance instructional spaces. The project adds approximately 15,800 sf to the existing building, increasing capacity and improving specialized learning environments.
The project included construction of several new classrooms, renovation of 18 existing classrooms, and a 3,000 sf expansion of the orchestra room to better support the school’s music program. Work was carefully phased to allow classes to relocate into the new addition while renovations were completed, minimizing disruption to ongoing school operations.
