Bond-Funded Improvements Transform Kentwood Schools

Kentwood Public Schools voters convincingly passed a 30-year, $64.8 million bond in November of 2015, for facility upgrades, technology, safety and security. The bond funded work to all district facilities, impacting the 8,800 student population.

Scope includes:

  • Stadium upgrades with new artificial turf & new track
  • Community events entry remodels at Valleywood Middle School and East Kentwood High School
  • Additions of “Collaboration Centers” at all three middle schools, the freshman center, and high school
  • Early childhood classroom addition
  • Gymnasium addition at Meadowlawn Elementary School
  • Gym/locker room additions
  • Fine arts classroom renovations
  • Classroom technology upgrades
  • HVAC upgrades
  • Door and window replacements to all district facilities
  • New building control systems to all district facilities
  • New secure entryways
